So, OK! The cast of Clueless reunited Tuesday, May 6, at the Nokia Theater for an L.A. Film Festival screening of their 1995 cult classic. An eyewitness at the event tells Us Weekly that "fans went wild" as the movie's standouts Alicia Silverstone (Cher Horowitz), Stacey Dash (Dionne Davenport), Elisa Donovan (Amber Mariens), and movie creator/director Amy Heckerling took to the stage for a Q&A.
"I am so lucky that they were all out there at the time," Heckerling told the moderator of her '90s cast. "I saw the 'Cryin' video for Aerosmith and when Alicia gave the finger, I said, 'There's my girl.'" The director, whose film credits include 1989's Look Who's Talking and 2000's Loser, added of Silverstone, "We met and I just loved her immediately." (Pre-Clueless, Silverstone was best known for starring in a slew of Aerosmith videos.)

Silverstone, 37, added that her role as plaid-loving heroine Cher was "wonderful" and "so much fun." The actress, who was 18 during Clueless filming, had starred in 9 movies before tackling her role as Cher. "I thought I was channeling Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball," Silverstone told the crowd of the spoiled protagonist. "And obviously that wasn't the case," she joked. "But I just felt like that! Especially when I pushed [Elton] off [of me at a house party]," she continued. "Those were the things that I found lovely."
As for Cher's BFF Dionne? Heckerling said Dash was the ideal fit for the role. "I wanted somebody that seemed like she was royalty and she can easily be government," the director explained as the crowd cheered in response. Dash, for her part, gave a regal wave while Silverstone and Donovan clapped for their costar
"We had so much fun," Dash, 47, recalled of filming. "[Heckerling] had such a clear vision and she was able to translate it to us perfectly." The director reaffirmed their fun memories onset and chimed in, "It was a fun group. I don't like getting up and going to work, but in this case, I was so happy every day."
Just as everyone said, it was such a magical experience," said Donovan, 43, who played mean girl Amber in the film. "That was my first movie," she explained. "So to have such an extraordinary group of people, and to have everybody be young, and have so much fun, it was amazing."
Indeed, the movie's stars appeared genuinely happy to be reunited at the screening. "It didn't look like any time had passed," the observer shared of the stars. "They all gelled so well together and looked like they could have stepped right back into those roles.
The film also starred Paul Rudd as Cher's love interest Josh Lucas, Donald Faison as Dionne's boyfriend Murray Duvall, and the late, beloved Brittany Murphy as Tai Frasier. Murphy's father Angelo Bertolotti was in the audience of the screening Tuesday evening.
